Meditating during certain times of the day can bring added benefits not only to the meditation, but to the practitioner as well.

Meditation can take place at any time during the day, although, many practitioners find that meditating at particular times enhances the meditation. Also, depending on the type of meditation and the purpose of the meditation, the timeframe can vary.

Meditating In The Morning

Many people enjoy a morning meditation. For most, mornings are a quiet time before the responsibilities and stress of the day come into play. A morning meditation could consist of welcoming the new day, prayer, connecting with higher powers, or focusing on what needs to be done for the day. This meditation should be kept light and refreshing.

Meditating At Work

If there is a quiet place to retreat to, try meditating while on a coffee break or lunch hour. Should there be any tension in the body, do a meditation to let go of that tension, then envision a golden light coming into the body and surrounding that area. This type of meditation can be done whenever needed.

Another purpose for meditating at work is to help bring focus to the job itself. By keeping stress and tension to a minimum, people can focus more on their work, thus yielding higher productivity. More and more employers are actually encouraging employees to take meditation breaks.

Meditating In The Evening

Evenings are a great time to unwind and meditate. An evening meditation can allow a person to reflect on the day. This is a time to let go of any stress or tension and focus on the achievements of the day. In addition, it allows a person to be able to enjoy the rest of the day without any tension associated with work.

Meditating Before Going to Sleep

Meditating before going to bed is a wonderful way to help settle the mind and prepare for sleep. Listening to a music meditation CD can help create a relaxing mood while meditating at night. This is a great time for practicing imagery meditation. Picture a calm, peaceful place in your mind and focus on it as you try to drift off to sleep.

As seen, meditation can take place during any time of the day and can help keep a person relaxed and their mind focused. For deeper meditations, it's best to find a time during the day when one is not hurried or worried about how much time there is for a meditation. Otherwise, a quick meditation can be a great "pick me up" throughout the day.
